6G – China is preparing for an even faster network
Last Wednesday (November 6) Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology officially announced the start of work on the 6G network. To this end, two working groups have been established to deal with the design and implementation of the next generation of cellular data transmission – 6G. The first group will consist of government agency employees responsible for shaping the appropriate telecommunications policy, promoting research and developing 6G communications. The second, which will include 37 experts from universities, research laboratories and enterprises, will have an advisory voice, dealing with, among others technical support.
Deputy Minister Wang Xi admitted that he was aware that the development of 6G technology is in its infancy and "neither technical issues nor key indicators and application scenarios have been defined". He added, however, that "China will develop 6G because this technology is of great importance for the future."
