Amazon removes "Christmas decorations" from the store
The Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum in Oświęcim asked Amazon to remove items from the store that used photos from the extermination camp.
Amazon has removed from the store offers of Christmas decorations and gadgets like the mouse or bottle opener, which used photos of the Auschwitz concentration camp. The e-commerce giant reacted quickly to the tweet posted by Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum in Oświęcim.
Sadly, it is not over yet @amazon. The "Massacre Auschwitcz (!) Birkenau Jewish Death" mousepad is another disturbing online product. We are not sure if @yadvashem would like the "Christmas ornament" with a freight car used for deporting Jews for extermination either. https://t.co/qDEEzqzwSU pic.twitter.com/wXExhFZPmV

All items, i.e. the bottle opener, mouse pad and bizarre baubles were "decorated" with photos of the concentration camp. Decorations are sold by stores, there are many indications that they are Chinese producers, still operating on Amazon, which specialized, as the offer suggests, in travel souvenirs. Hence the same description in each case: A perfect souvenir from the cities visited. Gifts for friends that you can give on various occasions. The photos used were, among others camp gate and freight wagon transporting people to Auschwitz.
