Free Blogging Services

Below are the best options for a free blog. These are great for practice – for example, if you’re not sure you would be able to use WordPress software, setting up a free WordPress blog is great practice before you spend any money on a fully hosted blog. They are also great for any kind of temporary events.

Just remember, if your free blog gets really popular and you decide to move to a hosted blog on your own domain, it going to be pretty difficult to re-route your traffic over to the new site. Not impossible, but difficult.

Important
If a free blog is your only option currently, and you think you hope to eventually have your own domain, I’d 100% recommend using the first option below ( WordPress.com ). Since I also 100% recommend using WordPress for paid hosting, when / if you do decide to move to your own domain, WordPress.com will be the easiest to migrate.

WordPress.com
WordPress is one of the best, and most flexible blogging platforms. As well as distributing their blogging software, they also offer free hosting at wordpress.com.
