Surface Duo and Surface Neo, i.e. an Android smartphone and a foldable laptop
After over 10 years of expectation, we have lived to see. Microsoft showed at the conference its folding tablet, Surface Neo. However, the biggest surprise is the smartphone called Surface Duo with a double screen and Android on board.
The most interesting solution used in new mobile devices Microsoft there is a hinge that allows you to rotate the screen 360 degrees. Thanks to this, Surface Neo and Surface Duo can have screens on both sides. There is also a keyboard attached, which has become a characteristic element of the Surface family, although this will apply to the larger of the devices.
Surface Neo is a miniature laptop with Windows 10X, which is a new version of the Microsoft operating system that will support devices with two screens. The laptop has two 9 ″ screens that, when unfolded, act as one 13 ekran screen. In addition to the keyboard, which holds the housing thanks to magnets, we will also be able to use the Surface Slim Pen. The device can operate in a similar mode as the HP laptop with a double screen and keyboard. Importantly, Microsoft is not the only manufacturer that works on similar devices, so we can expect next year a spill of laptops that can turn into tablets.
Surface Duo is an Android smartphone. The device has two 5.6 5 screens that can be rotated so that one acts as a keyboard. This solution has already appeared in the case of converters from other manufacturers. It is worth recalling even the Lenovo Yoga Book C930 with two LCD screens and E Ink. After unfolding, we get a tablet with a screen size of 8.3 ″. Unfortunately, we have not yet learned all the technical parameters. We only know that Surface Duo will work on the Snapdragon 855 processor.
It is worth recalling that Microsoft has been working on a device called Curier since 2009, which looks exactly like Surface Neo presented today. It seems that the market is finally ready for this type of solution. In turn, equipping Surface Duo in Android seems to me a reasonable choice. Instead of fighting the Google system, the Redmond giant has been creating its own applications for it for several years, thanks to which the Surface manufacturer uses the benefits of both worlds. | allthingsblogging.com
